Borussia Dortmund striker Sebastien Haller suffers from testicular cancer

The player left the pre-season ‘stage’ of the German team after receiving the news

French striker Sebastien Haller suffers from testicular cancer that forced him to abandon training in Switzerland for Borussia Dortmund, a club for which he signed a few days ago, after medical examinations carried out on Monday, according to the German team on Monday.

“In the course of intensive medical examinations, a tumor in the testicles was finally discovered during. Further examinations will be carried out in a specialized medical center in the next few days,” Borussia Dortmund announced.

The striker had to leave the training of the German team in Bad Ragaz (Switzerland) and returned to Dortmund. Haller, 28, complained of not feeling well after training on Monday morning, so he underwent medical tests.

“Today’s news came as a shock to Sebastien Haller and to all of us. The entire BVB family wishes him a full recovery as soon as possible and that we can hug him again soon. We will do everything in our power to make sure that he receives the best possible treatment”, said the sporting director of Dortmund, Sebastian Kehl, in statements to the club collected by Europa Press.

In the statement, Borussia Dortmund asks that the privacy of the player and his family be respected. “As soon as we have more information, we will inform you after consulting with the player,” settled the note about the footballer, who signed for the German team this summer from Ajax.
