Bayern have a plan for Lemar and a difficult task with Atleti

Bayern emerged as champions over the green (100% of titles, for now) and it is also staying ahead in the market. Except for the loss of Thiago Alcántara to Liverpool in exchange for 30 million euros, the only losses of weight of the champion squad have been the returns to their teams of the loaners Perisic, Odriozola and Coutinho. This summer, they have incorporated two young and level reinforcements such as Nübel and Leroy Sané and also, they want to repeat the transfer formula from other big teams that worked so well for them last season.

The one who is now on the target is Thomas Lemar. The French winger of Atlético de Madrid arrived at Wanda Metropolitano after proclaiming himself World Champion in Russia in exchange for 70 million euros, but in Madrid he has failed to shine as he did in Monaco and is looking for a way out. Thus, according to Sport Bild, Bayern has taken an interest in him in these last stages of the market to try to shore up its squad that has Sané, Coman and Gnabry for the bands. The Frenchman, who can play on both sides, would arrive to double the position and that Flick could count on four wing players in attack.

Atlético de Madrid would be interested in releasing Lemar but prefer a sale than a transfer, the formula that interests Bayern. The Bavarian club is not the first time that they ask about the situation of the French. In winter he also tried to close his hiring but, finally, it did not happen.

In Bavaria he would coincide with Lucas Hernández, Pavard and Tolisso, who were also his companions in the last triumphant summer in Russia, as well as with more French people such as Coman, Cuisance or Nianzou. This trick is one of which Bayern would expose the player to try to convince him of a possible quick adaptation to the Sabener Strasse dressing room. Then, it will depend on him to win the position in a team where the competitiveness is high but in which the accumulation of games in the calendar and the little rest between seasons will force to distribute minutes.

Since the return of LaLiga after the stoppage caused by the coronavirus, Thomas Lemar has been a regular substitute for Diego Pablo Simeone. The Argentine only took him out as a starter against Valladolid (he played 57 minutes), before he had played a little less than half an hour against Athletic in San Mamés and only played three more games of the remaining ten: 5 minutes against Barcelona, 17 against Celta and 6 against Getafe. The rest of the games was called up but did not leave the bench. Same situation with the Champions League, where he did not play for a single minute against RB Leizpig. Against Granada, with the match already 4-0 in favor of Atlético, he enjoyed thirteen minutes in which he neither scored nor assisted.

If he leaves, although it depends on the transfer agreement and the distribution of the card that is made with Bayern, the Frenchman will release a salary mass that would allow Atlético to close new hires. At the moment, they are looking for a forward and a departure for Diego Costa. On the list, Cavani (free), Maxi Gómez (Valencia), Milik (Naples), De Tomás (Espanyol) or Luis Suárez (Watford).
