Barça and Logroño La Rioja will meet this Sunday (4:00 p.m.) in the final of the XLVIII Copa del Rey handball, thanks to their respective victories this Saturday over Abanca Ademar León (39-30) and Recoletas Atlético Valladolid (29-27), in separate games played at the Palacio de los Deportes de Santander.
In the first duel of the day, the culé team achieved a clear victory against an opponent who, despite everything, remained firm during the 40 minutes. The Barça coach, Carlos Ortega, took advantage of his team’s control to rotate troops and not add more minutes to his punished physical condition.
On the other hand, the triumph of Logroño La Rioja will allow him to return five years later to a Copa del Rey final. In addition, the team from Logroño has already secured a ticket for next year’s European League and for the second edition of the Iberian Super Cup.
