AXA renews as sponsor of the CPE until Paris 2024

MADRID, 30 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The insurance company AXA and the Spanish Paralympic Committee (CPE) have formalized this Wednesday the renewal of the company’s support as sponsor of the Paralympic Team until the 2024 Paris Games, according to a statement.

The CEO of AXA Spain and president of the AXA Foundation, Olga Sánchez, and the president of the CPE, Miguel Carballeda, were in charge of signing this renewal of the agreement in a ceremony held at the Higher Sports Council (CSD). Both were accompanied by Beatriz Lérida and Lydia Jiménez, swimmers from the AXA Promising Team, who aspire to be at the big event in the French capital in just two years.

Sánchez predicted “success and incredible experiences” for the Paralympic Team in Paris 2024. “Because you athletes have shown that with the necessary support you are capable of breaking down all barriers and giving us the greatest of joys,” he stressed.

For his part, Carballeda expressed his satisfaction at the continuity of one of the longest-running sponsors. “If there is an outstanding member of our Paralympic Family, that is, without a doubt, AXA and its foundation. Not only because of the 15 years that they have been sponsoring the Spanish Paralympic Team, but because of the passion they put into all their support actions , from which the Paralympic movement in general and especially Paralympic swimming benefit so much”, he added.

In addition, Beatriz Lérida and Lydia Jiménez, on behalf of the athletes, wanted to highlight the relevance of the support of companies to develop their careers and “compete more and more, especially internationally, and thus continue to grow”. “The fact that AXA not only supports the elite, but also the base, allows us to get closer to our great references and, why not, one day equalize them and fulfill our dreams,” said Lérida.

AXA became a sponsor in July 2007, through the first ADOP Plan (2005-2008), and thus helped prepare the Spanish athletes who participated in the Paralympic Games in Beijing. Since then, the insurer has been a faithful travel companion, not only for the Paralympic elite, but for athletes with disabilities as a whole, also becoming a sponsor of the AXA Paralympic Promising Swimming Team and, therefore, also supporting the base.

“Thanks to the contributions of AXA and the other sponsors of the ADOP Plan, athletes have the necessary means to obtain scholarships and aid for training, to attend a greater number of concentrations and international competitions or to have the best technicians , coaches, support staff, specific sports equipment or medical services, among others,” concluded the CPE.
