Arsenal suffered a 0–2 loss. East Ham beat Arsenal 2-0 on the road, with goals from Tomas Soucek or old friend Konstantinos Mavropanos. This shocked Arsenal in the race for the title.

Arsenal missed the chance to go back to the top within the English Premiership because they lost at home to a good West Ham team.

Two goals were scored by Tomas Soucek in every half for Davie Moyes’ team. The other goal was scored by Konstantinos Mavropanos, who used to play for Arsenal.

They went up to sixth place in the league, ahead of Manchester United. Mikel Arteta did throw on Joey the Ghanaian player and Emil Smith Rowe, but it did not help.

West Ham has won six straight league games, putting them up to sixth place, ahead of the Manchester club . Now, they’re just four places behind the leading four teams. On January 2, they’ll play Brighton.
