3-1: Cardozo revolutionized Olimpia

The 21-year-old midfielder Fernando Cardoso arrived this Thursday with a new air Olympiad and two decisive goals, at 81 and 92 minutes, which certified a resounding 3-1 victory over the National Athletic in the first leg of Phase 2 of the Liberators cup.

Walter González attended the Dean’s new jewel to break the tie. Cardozo took a dry and powerful shot from outside the box out of his hat that left goalkeeper Kevin Mier without reaction. The goal that opened the abyss between Paraguayans and Colombians came when the match seemed like a case judged. In the second added minute, midfielder Iván Torres cleared the way for Cardozo, figure of the match. The second leg will be played on March 3 at the Atanasio Girardot stadium in Medellín.

Cardozo, the decisive man, came on in the 68th minute of the game precisely because of the scorer of the first goal, the 32-year-old defender Alejandro Silva.

The Uruguayan center-back put the Dean ahead, very early, at 7 minutes, and for almost the rest of the first half Sergio Órteman’s pupils managed to handcuff the albiverde team from Medellín.

Until the Jarlan Barrera-Jefferson Duque formula appeared on the scene to leave everything as it was at the beginning. Barrera, the 26-year-old creative, signaled the tie in the 46th minute after a precise pass from striker Duque, and in the second half the offensive actions alternated in both goals but without the attackers’ aim.

Then Cardozo entered and in a few minutes he put order in Olimpia’s house with a great goal and then the lace that left the players led by Alejandro Restrepo empty-handed and in greater need.
