The coach of FC Barcelona, Xavi Hernández, explained that Pau Cubarsí can allow himself not to rotate because he has “less fatigue” than many of his teammates, while he valued the victory against Cádiz this Saturday as “vital” to continue in the fight for the League before next week’s Classic.
“We have improved our positional play, we are very well positioned, very good in our surveillance. We have dominated the entire game. The score is short. We have played a very good game. We are in the best moment of the season. The team feels pleasure in the countryside,” he said at a press conference in Nuevo Mirandilla.
The Barça coach explained why he did not rotate Cubarsí like other starters, thinking about PSG or Real Madrid itself. “He has less fatigue, he is a footballer who is going to mark an era, he is fundamental,” he stated, before evaluating the fight for the League.
“We are playing for the League, we want to compete for the League. The next game is the Clásico, it is up to us to cut three points from Madrid and today was vital. Xavi thus explained his team’s motivation without thinking ahead of time in the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against PSG. “Tuesday is a toss-up.
