Verdasco strikes again: “What's wrong with me now?”

New episode in the war between Fernando Verdasco and Roland Garros. Two days ago, the Spanish tennis player announced that he would not participate in the tournament after having tested positive for coronavirus. After this result, Verdasco repeated the tests on his own, testing negative. Despite this, the Grand Slam organization refused to give him a second test and reinstate him.

During the night of Saturday, Verdasco published a new tweet in which he criticized the change of protocol at Roland Garros, which will now allow tennis players to take a second test. “To further outrage and frustration, we now learn that Roland Garros changed the rule yesterday and agrees to retest those who have tested positive for PCR … but what about me now?”he began by saying in his statement.

“I was not given that opportunity, nor is any action taken to rectify the error and I am simply excluded from the table without further ado”he continued. “Today they tell me that there is no solution for me. I am hurt and I feel enormous frustration and helplessness, but is Roland Garros doing something to correct the situation? No”, sentenced the Spanish, visibly angry with how the Parisian tournament has acted with him.
