Turkish Airlines wants the sleeve of the Barça shirt

The FC Barcelona closed an agreement with Spotify, the Swedish streaming music company, as the main sponsor of the club, an association that must be ratified tomorrow in an extraordinary assembly of delegates that will be held electronically. In any case, there is still room to continue looking for sponsors even for the men’s and women’s Barça first team shirts.

In this sense, and according to what has been known MDthe azulgrana club is negotiating with the airline Turkish Airlineswhich is keenly interested in associating again with the entity that presides over Joan Laporta. And it is that this Turkish aviation company was already linked to Barça between 2010, when the current Barça president was in the last season of his previous mandate, and 2012.

Now, Turkish is once again interested in linking its international image to that of Barça. The Barça club are looking for sponsors for the sleeve that contribute between 10 and 15 million and according to what President Laporta said in a recent interview in RAC1, there are up to six offers from as many companies. One of them is that of Turkish Airlinesa company that operates commercial flights to more than 322 destinations, specifically in Turkey and in countries of Europe, Asia, Africa, North America and South America. This makes it the first airline in the world for destinations in more countries.

Brand closely linked to sport

Turkish Airlines is already closely linked to elite sport, since it sponsors a tournament as prestigious as the Men’s Basketball Euroleague and appears on the front of the shirt of a reference Argentine team, River Plate.

It is also a sponsor of Turkey’s senior football and basketball teams, as well as a travel provider for top-flight Turkish clubs such as Galatasaraythe Trabzonspor and the Bursasporamong others.

It would be the relief of Beko

If you end up signing for him Barça to be advertised on the sleeve of the first team shirt, Turkish Airlines will take over in this space from another Turkish sponsor that was the last to announce itself in that sleeve: the home appliance company backhoe, for 19 million euros. However, the last season backhoe He signed a one-year extension that expires on June 30 but only for training clothes in exchange for 10 million. Thus, the sleeve was left empty and since the arrival to the presidency of Laporta a sponsor is being sought for it. The club hopes to announce an agreement shortly for the next campaign.
