The renewal of De Bruyne, paralyzed after the arrest of his agent

Kevin De Bruyne is the flagship of Manchester City and the English club knows it well. According to the Daily Mail, the 'citizen' team wanted to reward the Belgian's excellent season with an improvement in the contract that would link him to the entity in the long term (he has three more years on his contract), however his initiative must wait for it to be resolved the mess the player has with his manager, Patrick De Koster.

The footballer's agent was arrested last Thursday by the Belgian police following a complaint from De Bruyne himself.

The reason for the disagreement would be an economic dispute in reference to the midfielder's contract during his time as a Wolfsburg player, between 2013 and 2014. The newspaper Het Nieuwsblad, affirms that the investigation, led by the investigating judge and fraud hunter Michel Claise, began in 2019.

According to these reports, De Koster would be suspected of money laundering and counterfeiting and it is estimated that the payments related to De Bruyne's contract in Wolfsburg passed through Liechtenstein, a notorious tax haven, and “were not made according to the rules.”

Against this background, City would have paralyzed any movement for the renewal of De Bruyne, who want to improve the record, earning more than 18 “kilos” per season.
