The national team does not forget the only defeat against Switzerland

Without being a Spain-Switzerland duel with a lot of tradition in the history of football, the truth is that the Spanish team has some pending account with the Swiss, which, on the other hand, it knows well, especially in recent years.

In the aggregate count, both have met 22 times with 16 Spanish victories, five draws and a single Swiss victory.

A victory that, undoubtedly, at the time, was one of the most painful because it questioned the 2010 World Cup that was ultimately conquered by Del Bosque's. That day the Swiss team was the first stumbling block on the Red's path to the World Cup title in South Africa and a goal by Fernandes after a bizarre play, knocked down all the illusions that the team, the current European champion at that time, it had generated in the face of a historic opportunity that finally ended up being it.

But that time was not the only one that Spain crossed in a World Cup. It also happened in 1994, in the second round, when Spain won 3-0 or in the group stage of the 1966 World Cup in England where the Spanish team also beat the Swiss 2-1.

In the Eurocup, however, it will be the first time they meet and it will also be the first time for Switzerland to play a quarter in this tournament. The emotion is served.
