The lawyer for the eldest children of Fernández Tapias announces ‘war’: “They have suffered an ordeal, their father did not take them away from his side”

Fernando, Borja, Íñigo, Juan Carlos and Sandra They have been on everyone’s lips since their father, Fernando Fernandez Tapias, died last Wednesday at the age of 84, victim of a heart attack. They had no relationship with him since they filed an incapacitation lawsuit in 2019 and at the funeral home they were not well received by the widow, Nuria Gonzalez, and its circle. They remain silent but their lawyer, Santiago Ortizbegins to put the cards on the table: “They decided to stop seeing their father so as not to start a war that could harm him and I have seen them cry about it.”

The lawyer assures that the popular version of the story does not correspond to the truth: “The children want their father’s memory to be respected and they have been very silent about it. There has been a situation that has been transmitted incorrectly, to the press and very close people, things that were not true. For example the sentences that had been handed down, the reason why the children requested incapacitation, the supposed economic reasons…”, Ortiz revealed. “People very close to the family have received false information. They have not spoken out of respect and affection for their father”.

The lawyer continues: “They began the incapacitation procedure to protect their father and there were no fissures between the five. It was not an attack on any person nor were there economic reasons. They have suffered a real ordeal and the truth will come to light.” And he adds: “The most painful thing for them has been not being able to get close to their father. He did not separate his children at any time but that contact was cut off, they blocked his phone. I have seen Don Fernando hugging his children and when other people arrived, he had to let them go, saddened. I saw that and it happened in 2020, in court,” he explained in YAS.

Santiago Ortiz has finished his intervention: “They are having a very hard time. They were not going to see their father so as not to make things worse, so as not to create a war that could affect him. I have seen them crying when they decided to stop seeing their father. The sacrifice they have made must be seen and lived.” And he assured: “There may be last wishes, but we are sure they were not his.”
