The players led by Pascual Saurín dominated the match from the start and were far superior in all facets of the game. The good work on serve and defense, and the points from Lucía Varela, top scorer of the match with 13 points, allowed the Spanish to take the lead in the first set.

In the second, Patricia Aranda showed her solvency and the punch of the Spanish attack took the score to a clear 21-11, which sentenced the second set in favor of Spain (16-25). In the third, Denmark tried to react in the final stretch but could not give more life to a match that died at 19-25 in favor of the Spanish.

In this way, the ‘Volleyball Lionesses’ add their first victory in the continental competition and are already looking at their next goal; the two matches in Asturias (Gijón and Avilés) on August 24 and 27, against Slovakia and Latvia, respectively.
