Soldier leads the chase

Europe. That is the word of the year in football Granada. Granada put an end to its exalted journey across the continent at Old Trafford, but the eyes in Los Cármenes continue to point squarely to the European competition. The squad, the coaching staff and the fans, these from their homes, savored until the last second of their adventure in the Europa League. And now, out of the competition, they will squeeze every last option to return again next season. The challenge is great, but not impossible.

The pursuit of that seventh place that gives the right to play in Europe next season has in Soldado one of its great drivers. The forward, recently renewed automatically for matches until 2022, is signing a season to frame and reaches this final stretch of the League at a very good time and with a well-greased trigger. His two goals against Eibar were decisive in the rojiblanca victory. There are already 13 goals he has scored this season (25 he did last year), eight in the League, three in the Europa League and two in the Cup.

Soldier and Granada want more. And, of course, Diego Martínez pushes for his team to empty until the end in search of renewing the European ticket: “We have earned the right to continue competing. We look to ourselves to grow and improve as a team. Think little and do a lot ”. The disadvantage with respect to Betis, seventh, is seven putons. 18 left at stake. Lots of fabric. But in Los Cármenes nobody gives up and the calendar still reserves a Betis – Granada on matchday 35 apart from the duels against Seville (this Sunday), Barcelona (next Thursday) and Real Madrid (matchday 36).
