Simeone: “I will never forget the minute of silence for my father”

MADRID, 3 Apr. (SportsFinding) –

The coach of Atlético de Madrid, Diego Pablo Simeone, thanked the club and its fans for the minute of silence and tribute to his recently deceased father, a very emotional moment at the Wanda Metropolitano that he will not forget and that opened a night of triumph (4- 1) against Deportivo Alavés to continue the good line.

“I wanted to comment on the minute of silence for my father, I appreciate it, I will never forget it,” said ‘Cholo’, at the start of his press conference after the victory. “The game started very well, the team was clear about how to attack. After 20 minutes we started to leave the game. They are fast players who know what they have to do”, he pointed out.

The rojiblanco coach recognized that the best thing about the 1-1 they suffered was that it came early. “We were allowing, in the second half we started in the same way, and the best thing that could happen to us is that the goal came quickly, to have time to react. That was seen, a good reaction from the team. We took a necessary match, wanted and wanted,” he explained.

Simeone celebrated the good line of the team, with the sixth victory in a row in the League, before visiting Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals. “We have to follow the same line that we started with the game against Osasuna, now comes the Champions League, which is different, two games against an extraordinary rival”, he pointed out.

In addition, the ‘Cholo’ was asked about Luis Suárez, author of two goals coming off the bench once again. “It makes me very happy for him, because he is in a moment that has not happened to him in his career, he is for sure. Suárez told Félix in the previous one that he had to score two goals, he wants to compete to win,” he finished.
