Sergi Martínez undergoes surgery this Thursday for patellar tendinopathy

MADRID, 10 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Barça player Sergi Martínez will have to undergo surgery this Thursday due to patellar tendinopathy in his left knee, the club reported in a statement.

The forward, who renewed this summer with the Barça team until the end of the 2023/24 season, had knee discomfort, so he was not available for Barça’s second victory in the Endesa League against Carplus Fuenlabrada.

“Once the operation is over, a new medical report will be provided,” explained the Catalan team. In this way, Martínez, 22 years old and 2.02 meters tall, will be operated on the same day that his team faces Real Madrid on the second day of the Regular Phase of the Euroleague, where the ‘culés’ will seek their first victory after falling against Olympiacos.
