Sabadell renews its captain Angel Martínez

Sabadell will have practically his entire spine renewed on his return to LaLIga Smartbank, after the club has announced the renewal of its captain Ángel Martínez for one more season, the fourth as a harlequin.

The captain, born 34 years ago in Girona, was trained in the Espanyol quarry and the subsidiary made his debut in Primera. Curiously, ten years after leaving Espanyol, they will see each other again, this time in Segunda A.

Ángel, who also went through Rayo Vallecano and Girona, went through English football with good numbers at Blackpool. He arrived at Sabadell in the 2017-18 season and together with Josu, Óscar Rubio, Aleix Coch and Pedro Capó, he is one of the five players who have remained with the team since then.

“The renewal means completing the promotion and being able to enjoy Second A with the harlequin shirt. We face the season without complexes and with the confidence of a promotion and a very united team,” he said in statements offered to the club.

“There is nothing that makes me happier than continuing to sail on this ship. I did not change when we were drifting, I was not going to do it now. In the Second Sea we will have to row hard, but I am even willing to swim with sharks! Hoist the sails, my people, with this ship to the end of the world! “
