“Rosell is responsible for the espionage to which I was subjected”

The National Court has ordered the provisional filing of Jaume Roures' complaint against Sandro Rosell, former president of Barcelona, for espionage. “The Hearing concludes that there is not enough evidence to support the thesis of Mr. Roures and Mediapro, according to which said espionage was induced or instigated by Sandro Rosell, with the coverage of FC Barcelona,” the former president's lawyers have explained in a statement azulgrana. Meanwhile, the other party insists that it is a provisional file and that the instruction continues.

The National Court has filed a case that can no longer be appealed judicially. In addition, the National Court has dismissed Roures' appeal for having left FC Barcelona out of the case. The Rosell-Roures litigation came from 2016, when Roures sued Jaume Roures for “systematic, deliberate and organized espionage.” Roures accused a worker of his company of entering the company's computer system to steal hundreds of his e-mails and forward them to Rosell and Joan Carles Raventós.

Roures: “Rosell is responsible for the espionage to which I was subjected”

The president of the Mediapro group, Jaume Roures, continues to think that the former president of FC Barcelona, Sandro Rosell, is “the person in charge of the espionage” to which it is considered that he was subjected “for at least three years”, so beyond rectify their statements in this regard, is reaffirmed in them. Through a statement, Roures refers to the decision of the Provincial Court of Barcelona, which “against the criteria of the examining court of No. 8 of Barcelona” has agreed “the provisional dismissal of the proceedings regarding Sandro Rosell in the framework of the investigation by the espionage that I suffered for more than three years“.” If at any time new evidence or facts appear that determine Sandro Rosell's involvement, the proceedings against Mr. Rosell could be reopened, “he recalls.

Roures considers that the Provincial Court itself recognizes that the employees of Sandro Rosell and FC Barcelona, Robert Cama and Juan Carlos Raventós, spied on him and “took hundreds (or thousands) of my personal and work emails, which they shared with Sandro Rosell, whom the Provincial Court considers a mere passive receiver, in the absence of more evidence about his participation in the seizure and dissemination of my emails. ” The president of Mediapro assures that he respects, but does not share, the criteria of the Provincial Court, but reiterates his conviction that Sandro Rosell was “the instigator of the behaviors that are going to be prosecuted.” “If you didn't instigate them, why didn't you report them during the more than three years in which you were reportedly receiving the emails stolen by Robert Cama? And for what reason was Robert Cama subsequently hired by FC Barcelona? “

He also recalls that “Mr. Rosell's attitude of avoiding his responsibilities, unloading them on subordinates is not new” and gives as an example “his performance in the investigation and conviction for tax fraud in the signing of Neymar.” “Despite being the President of FC Barcelona, and therefore responsible for its management, he avoided all criminal responsibility, letting it fall solely on the club“, indicates Roures. In the order, the seventh section of the Audiencia de Barcelona dismisses the appeal filed by the president of Mediapro, Jaume Roures, and considers the request of Rosell's defense that the provisional dismissal of the proceedings in the case.
