Real Madrid strikes the big blow at Pizjuán

The leader puts the tie to the title with a champion comeback against a Sevilla that won 2-0 at halftime

MADRID, 17 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Madrid defeated Sevilla FC (2-3) this Sunday in their visit to Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on matchday 32 of LaLiga Santander, a show of strength and ambition for the title that did not mislead despite being greatly outmatched in the first half, thanks to a second half with three goals and a lot of conviction.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men add 75 points to the 60 of Barça and Sevilla. The Catalans are the ones with the best rhythm of persecution, with two games less, but Madrid strips the daisy without fail and with a strong mentality so as not to give rise to emotion. Pizjuán, where the referee left no one happy, fell for the first time in the league with goals from Rodrygo, Nacho and Benzema.

After an extension and strong emotions against Chelsea to reach the semifinals of the Champions League, Madrid had an unassailable place. Sevilla entered with one or two more marches and on top of that they had a punch, Rakitic the first in a direct free kick that had the complicity of the rival barrier. Julen Lopetegui’s men pressed and bothered a Madrid out of combat.

Ancelotti’s men, who claimed a penalty from Diego Carlos, appeared from the start with Modric, Benzema and Vinicius, big words this season, but Sevilla hit twice. Militao, again pointed out, made waters against Tecatito and Lamela made it 2-0 four minutes after the first. In addition, the controversy changed sides with the locals asking for the second yellow card for Camavinga.

Cuadra Fernández did not even see a foul on a Martial who retired injured, and Madrid took advantage of Sevilla’s anger to start growing in the game. The line was the one followed by the game after the restart, with Ancelotti’s men more in the rival field and the Andalusians losing balls and without the ability to respond.

Rodrygo’s entry was a big culprit in the change and the Brazilian was in charge of closing the gap. Lopetegui moved to the bench but Sevilla spent many minutes suffering until he managed to find himself back on the pitch, while Bono’s work piled up. Rafa Mir was able to sentence 20 minutes from the end, but Madrid was preparing its particular resurrection on Holy Sunday.

Vinicius made it 2-2, but the referee annulled it for a hand that, with many repetitions on TV, did not seem clear, rather shoulder, and Mir was once again close to fishing in the other area. The insistence of Madrid did not stop and the recently entered Nacho, after a pass behind a Carvajal who has been playing everything in recent days, signed a draw that was already good for the leader’s interests.

With the inertia of a season going smoothly, Madrid teamed up again, with Rodrygo again in the middle, so that Benzema, who was missing, made it 2-3 in added time. Ancelotti’s men look more and more like a champion, while Sevilla let three golden points slip away to tie the Champions League.
