Real Madrid seeks a good end to its journey in the Women’s Champions League

MADRID, 21 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Madrid will put an end to their career in the 2022-2023 Women’s Champions League this Thursday with a mere formality at the Alfredo Di Stéfano (9:00 p.m.) against the modest Albanian Vllaznia, the only rival they have been able to beat in their group.

After losing last Friday in the Parque de los Príncipes against French Paris Saint-Germain, the team coached by Alberto Toril said goodbye to the highest continental competition, without even being able to have options on this last day, where their rival is not at stake either any.

The Madrid team has not been able to overcome the challenge of this Group A, ‘the one of death’ for also having the powerful English Chelsea, and opting to repeat the brilliant quarterfinals of last season in which they debuted in the Champions League. Now, its obligation is to close until next year with a good image.

Real Madrid shouldn’t have too many problems getting rid of Vllaznia, whom they already beat on the first day of the competition 0-2, although the result could have been more bulky. The Madrid team is theoretically much superior and hopes to remain at least undefeated in an Alfredo Di Stéfano where neither Chelsea nor PSG could win.

After the defeat in Paris, the Madrid team did not have a day in the F League, so they arrive “rested” at this duel where Alberto Toril could take the opportunity to rotate and give minutes to players like Nahikari García, Tere Abelleira, Maite Oroz, Caroline Möller, Lucía Rodríguez or the goalkeeper Méline Gérard to beat an Albanian team that will have the motivation to try to open both their points and goals box. Chelsea (8-0) and PSG (5-0) barely gave him any options as a visitor.
