Ramis on the playoff: “There are two solutions: either you laugh or you cry”

The coach of CD Tenerife, Luis Miguel Ramis He acknowledged that his team is calm a few hours before the start of the playoff tie that will face UD Las Palmas at the Heliodoro on Wednesday 06/01 and at Gran Canaria on Saturday 05/04. For the coach from Tarragona, it is very important “not to make mistakes, focus on the game and be constant during the tie” in order to fulfill the goal of going up to the First Divisionto which he added that “the emotional comes to all of us for everything that the match entails.”

Ramis told the media that both teams are “quite recognizable” and that his players have things clear to face the decisive match on Wednesday. Regarding the results that have occurred this season between both teams, he pointed out that “the door to the league is closed” with which he assured that what happened in the regular season does not have to affect this tie. “We have played 42 games that have given us this equation and it has been that we are classified together with 3 other teams to go up to First Division. Las Palmas has touched us; It was our first turn here, we will go there on Saturday, 180 minutes of competition that will be similar to the 42 days in that we have a rival and a ball in between”, he clarified.

“In football, when you reach these levels of importance and competition and you reach these types of finals, because they are already finals for us, there are two solutions: either you laugh or you cry. But to laugh or cry you have to play these kinds of important games. Therefore, we are aware of that, but we are prepared to take on this challenge and to fight it so that our fans can enjoy it”. Ramis added.

“Big teams become big by achieving important challenges, and this is it. Therefore, we are very happy to face it because this is the way teams grow during their life and we have that responsibility now. We deserve it because we have all earned it: the club, the fans, the players, the coaches, everything that surrounds us around the club. We want to take advantage of it. We are aware of this responsibility and it is a spectacular challenge for us. I feel it is the most powerful sporting moment of my career and I am ready to accept it and move forward”, he declared at the press conference.

When asked about the losses of the blue and white team, he assured that both Álex Muñoz and Sam Shashoua have entered the call and therefore are available to play minutes. Javi Alonso and Pablo Larrea are the coach’s discards for the first match of the tie.
