Olympic hurdler Devon Allen signs for the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed Olympian Devon Allen, fourth in the 110-meter hurdles final at the Tokyo Games – just four-hundredths from bronze – and fifth at Rio 2016, as a wide receiver, the NFL team reported.

Allen, 27, played football for the University of Oregon before concentrating entirely on his track career. “It’s now or never, because I don’t want to get too old,” Allen said at a Pro Day in Oregon, where he was eyed by NFL scouts. “I don’t want to turn 30, 31 and then try to get into the NFL,” he added.
