Official: the Classic will be played without an audience

There will be no public in the stands of the Camp Nou on October 24 in the game against Real Madrid or four days before in the Champions League debut against Ferencvaros. This has been assured this Thursday by the head of the Government in health, Alba Vergés, in an interview on ‘Catalunya Ràdio’, where she flatly ruled out the possibility of putting people inside the stadiums in the coming days: “In the current situation it is very difficult for us to consider that there may be an audience. We cannot venture that it will be like this all season, but what is certain is that in the face of October 20 and 24 it is impossible “.

The club had sent a protocol to the Generalitat on the possibility of opening the doors to a limited capacity of 30,000 people for the Champions League and El Clásico match against Real Madrid, respecting all the security controls established against the pandemic, but the Government has rejected the document, considering it totally unaffordable, given the state of seriousness that is being experienced in Catalonia due to the high risk of regrowth in this second wave.

Also today also the possibility of a referendum on the motion of censure, scheduled for October 31 and November 1, would be on the air, although Vergés clarified that from his department no request has yet been received from Barcelona about this option: “You have to study when you arrive, but at the moment it has not arrived“.
