Míchel's new Girona starts with PCR tests on 25 footballers

The Girona of Míchel Sánchez began this Monday the preseason of the 2021-22 course with the performance of the PCR tests on the players and members of the coaching staff of the new rojiblanco coach.

As planned, and pending the results of the tests, this Tuesday the players will undergo the mandatory medical review at the beginning of the course.

On Wednesday, Míchel will already direct his first training session, just a month before receiving the visit of Amorebieta in one of the duels of the first day of LaLiga SmartBank.

The list of footballers cited this Monday rises to 25, with the notable absences of striker Cristhian Stuani, who a week ago extended his contract with Girona until 2026, defender Santi Bueno and midfielder Pape Diamanka, who last year played on loan at the Albacete.

The first team footballers who returned to work this Monday are goalkeepers Juan Carlos Martín and Adriá Ortolá; defenders Juanpe Ramírez, Jordi Calavera, Bernardo Espinosa and Arnau Martínez; midfielders Gerard Gumbau, Ibrahima Kébé and Ramon Terrats; and the attackers Mamadou Sylla, Valery Fernández and Samu Sáiz.

In addition, defender Johan Mojica and attackers Àlex Gallar, Jairo Izquierdo and Joaquín Zeballos, who have returned to Montilivi after their assignments, also underwent the PCR test.

The list of players summoned by Míchel was completed by the youth of the lower categories Pau Víctor, Jonathan Morilla, Ricard Artero, Gabri Martínez, Jonathan Dubasin, Àlex Sala, Nil Sauret, Ilyas Chaira and Oriol Comas.

In the list of players, in addition, the absence of the lanes Iago López and Maxi Villa stood out, the only players with a current contract who were not cited, in addition to the aforementioned Stuani, Bueno and Diamanka, with permission.

The future of López, who this past year played for Logroñés, and Villa seems, today, outside of Montilivi.
