Mark Zuckerberg’s latest whim: a $300 million yacht for his 40th birthday

Next May 14, Mark Zuckerberg He will be 40 years old. The founder of Facebook has gone all out and has given himself a yacht valued at 300 million dollars and 118 meters in length. An investment that is not without controversy, since the boat belonged to a Russian oligarch linked to the war in Ukraine. For now, the money from Meta’s CEO has gone to a deposit in the Netherlands until the sanctions imposed by the European Union on the Russian country are removed.

The luxurious ship is called Launchpad. She is a vessel with capacity for 24 passengers and 48 crew members. Such is her size that she is ranked number 45 in the ranking of the largest yachts in the world. She was built just two years ago in the Netherlands and designed by Espen Øino International. Additionally, she was recently photographed in Port Everglades, Florida, after departing Gibraltar. Her maintenance amounts to 30 million dollars a year.

This new superyacht also has a support vessel, the Wingman, 67 meters in length. She has capacity for 20 crew members and a space reserved for the helipad. The use that Zuckerberg will give to his new whim is still unknown, although it could undoubtedly be a good place to clear his head of his business responsibilities with his wife, Priscilla Chan and her three children.
