Mallorca feasts and clings to the lead

Mallorca, favored by the expulsion in minute 3 of Andoni López, has successfully defended in Son Moix the leadership they won last day by defeating UD Logroñés 4-0 this Sunday, with goals from Salva Sevilla and Amath Ndiayé in the first part, and of Abdón Prats and Luka Romero in the second.

Luka, aged 16 this month, international with the Argentine Under-15 team and born in Mexico, made history last season in Spanish football by making his debut against Real Madrid at 15 years and 229 days.

He broke a historical record and today he has made history again by closing Mallorca's scoring account with a great goal, a few minutes after entering the field of play.

The match faced two of the teams most in the form of the championship: Mallorca, at the top of the table and with a single defeat in thirteen games, and a Logroñés launched after six consecutive wins.

Various circumstances, however, all of them unfavorable for the visitors, tipped the balance very quickly towards the side of Luis García Plaza's team.

The Rioja team began to lose the game in minute 3, with a transfer to the goalkeeper punished with an indirect free kick inside the area.

He continued on the next play with a penalty that cost Andoni López the expulsion for clearing the direct free kick with his arm on the same goal line.

The penalty was thrown by Dani Rodríguez and although goalkeeper Roberto Santamaría stopped it, the referee ordered it to be repeated by several players entering the area before the launch.

Again, Santamaría guessed the direction of Dani Rodríguez's shot, but he could no longer do anything before Salva Sevilla's shot that rose to the scoreboard.

The goal against such an early riser and the numerical inferiority was too heavy a slab for Logroñés, who conceded the second goal five minutes from the end of the first half, the work of Amath Ndiayé.

The vermilion monologue continued in the second part. And also the bad luck of the Riojans. The goalkeeper Roberto Santamaría, a former Majorcan player, was injured (min. 54) and was replaced by the Ukrainian Yaroslav Meikhers.

Nor did David González finish the game, who was injured two minutes after replacing Martínez (min. 77).

Everything played against Logroñés, forced to face the final stretch with 9 players on the field when they already lost 3-0 with the goal of Abdón Prats, substitute for Amath Ndiaye.

The win was closed by the Argentine-Mexican Luka Romero with a goal of great invoice and that justifies the great hopes placed in him by Mallorca.
