Madrid will wear black in the Clásico

(ADVANCE).- This Sunday’s Clásico will lose one of its most classic elements. Real Madrid will not wear white against the eternal rival as usual, but will debut a black shirt with white details, the fourth kit this season. Courtois will wear pink. The new uniform is part of a new collection designed by Adidas to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the founding of the white club, which was celebrated on March 6. The collection also marks the 20th anniversary of the collaboration between Adidas and designer Yohji Yamamoto of the Y-3 brand, which specializes in cutting-edge sportswear.

The new clothing line will not be limited to the game shirt, but also warm-up garments, which will have reflective prints, and a whole collection of clothing and accessories, such as scarves or bags.

“The association expands for a broader collection that channels a symbolic coalescence of dynamism and speed. Perfectly fusing sports innovation with avant-garde aesthetics,” explains the German brand that has dressed Real Madrid for more than two decades.

The collection is launched with an advertising campaign, ‘The Ceremony’, with “images inspired by Yohji Yamamoto’s characteristic black aesthetic that follow an ethereal vision of two lovers who, guided by the past, walk towards their future”. Benzema, Marcelo, Alaba, Mendy, Misa, Caroline Moller and Iker Casillas are the images of the campaign.

The garments will be on sale from tomorrow, Friday, in the online stores of Real Madrid, the two brands and the Adidas store on Madrid’s Gran Vía.
