Koundé and Araujo would miss the Clásico due to injury

MADRID, 24 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

FC Barcelona defenders Jules Koundé and Ronald Araujo, both injured with their national team during the break, would miss the next month of competition with their club, including the important Champions League matches against Inter Milan and Bayern and the Clasico against Real Madrid in the month of October.

The most serious case would be that of the Uruguayan. “Araujo has an avulsion of the adductor longus tendon of the right thigh. It is low and his evolution will determine his availability”, communicated FC Barcelona.

Araujo, who was injured in the first minute of the Uruguay match, is not expected to play again before the break and would miss the rest of the Champions League group stage and the rest of the club’s commitments, such as the ‘Clásico’ against Real Madrid on October 16.

For his part, the Frenchman suffered a muscle injury that will leave him in the dry dock for several weeks, although his return will depend on his recovery. “Koundé has an injury to the femoral biceps of his left thigh. He is low and his evolution will determine his availability,” the club published.

Jules Koundé could also be absent for the game against Real Madrid, as well as the Champions League duels against Inter Milan (both in Milan and Barcelona) and Bayern, so Xavi Hernández will have big problems putting together his defensive line in one of the moments with the highest accumulation of games of the season.
