Fernando Sanz has joined the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) as the new director of International Business Development, as confirmed on Wednesday by the body chaired by Luis Rubiales.
The RFEF pointed out that Sanz will be involved “in matters of brand expansion and international marketing”, and that he will also “have work in the 2030 World Cup bid and in major organized events such as the Copa del Rey or the Spanish Super Cup”. . “The appointment of Fernando Sanz comes to reinforce a strategic area for the RFEF, such as the international projection of Spanish football,” the federative entity stressed.
The former player from Madrid thus returns to the federation, of which he was already a member of its Board of Directors between 2007 and 2010 when he then presided over Málaga. In addition, he held positions in LaLiga where he was its director of International Institutional Relations (2019-2022) and its general director for the Middle East and North Africa (2013-2019), and he was also director of Sports Projects and the Ambassadors Project and legends; and until this incorporation he was the president of the LaLiga Foundation.
