Felipe VI and Letizia, state trip to Denmark invited by their beloved Queen Margaret

New appointment on the international agenda of the Kings. Felipe VI and Letizia will visit Denmark on a state trip between November 6 and 8. The monarch and his wife thus respond to the invitation of the Danish monarch, Margaret, 83 years old. The visit will take place just a few days after Leonor’s 18th birthday, on October 31.

We must remember Don Felipe’s relationship with Margaret of Denmark: she is the sister of Ana María de Grecia, widow of Constantine of Greece and aunt of Don Felipe. We also remember the affection with which the King addressed her in that video congratulation on the occasion of her 80th birthday, in 2020, in full confinement due to the pandemic: “Hello Aunt Daisy! Dear Aunt Daisy…”, the head of state then greeted with great affection.

Felipe VI and Letizia will be accompanied by the acting Foreign Minister, José Manuel Albares, as reported this Monday the 9th by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Bottom photo, the monarch, the longest-lived after Elizabeth II, who reigned for 75 years; she with Federico and Mary.

The heir to the Throne, Frederick of Denmark, and his wife, Mary Donaldson, maintain points of connection with our kings. The Dane and the Australian lawyer met at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Don Felipe was present. The two married in May 2004. For Letizia, the Danish wedding also marked her official introduction into society before all European royalty. She was wearing that spectacular red Lorenzo Caprile dress.
