Entain Extends Grass Roots Sponsorship To European Countries

Entain, one of the largest sports betting and gaming brands on the planet, have been doing their bit for grassroots for a couple of years now. Using their foundation arm, significant funds have been invested into multiple sports at grassroots level, primarily in the United Kingdom by Entain. But now, they’re extending their work into Europe.

The Entain Foundation was set up in September of 2019. The group, whose flagship online brand is PartyCasino, pledged to invest £100 million over the course of the fives years that followed, with much of the funds going towards the Pitching In Programme, a campaign designed to support sports and the people working within them at grassroots level.

Of course, because Entain is a global brand, with operations stretching into many parts of Europe. It opens the door for them to deliver support directly into the jurisdictions where they’re active. Italy is a prime example of a country where the Entain Foundation is already having a positive impact.

Entain, formerly known as GVC Holdings, operate brands such as Bwin, Eurobet and Gioco Digitale in Italy. As a result, they have decided to partner up with Sport Senza Frontiere Onlus. It’s an organisation that provides support to young people and their families within the country’s towns and cities who may be underprivileged and going without. And the way they offer this helping hand is via a mixture of sports and tutoring.

The Sport Senza Frontiere Onlus intervention scheme opens the door to thirty sporting disciplines for free, and there are learning services that go alongside that. In addition, parents can reach out for support, with services around health and medical also available on-demand. But, as you will expect, to provide so many underprivileged young people and families with this network of support for free requires investment, which is where Entain come into the picture.

It’s just another opportunity for the Entain foundation, which is non-profitable, to do good work that stays consistent with their goals. Their Pitching in and SportsAid campaigns have had a positive effect in countries such as the UK, Greece, Germany and Columbia so far, with Italy the latest to add to an ever-growing list.

With Entain’s help, Sport Senza Frontiere Onlus are aiming to directly impact around four hundred beneficiaries across Italy, in towns and cities such as Bergamo, Milan, Naples, Rome, Trento and Turin. But, it’s not the only partnership that the two organisations are currently working on.

The Entain Foundation will also supply staff to work for Eurobet, one of Entain’s sports betting brands operating in Italy. In doing so, it will kick start a six-month project labelled Wellbeing for Good. The aim is to again use sport and other activities to promote wellbeing across the staffing structure at Eurobet, something which could then be repeated with other brands in the future when the opportunity arises.
