Enric Mas is “at the top to prepare the big goals that are coming”

MADRID, 24 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish cyclist Enric Mas (Movistar Team) admitted this Monday that he feels “at the top to prepare for the big goals that are coming”, after “a few weeks of recovery” due to the fracture of the right scapula that he suffered on July 1, during the first stage of the Tour de France.

“We are back in the mountains. After a few weeks of recovery, we are back at full speed to prepare for the big goals that lie ahead in the coming weeks. Thank you all very much for the support and messages of encouragement that you have sent me during these days,” Mas commented on his official Twitter profile.

Mas suffered a fracture to his right scapula and also superficial abrasions to his arms and legs, during that inaugural stage of the Tour, as a result of a fall 23 kilometers from finishing the medium-mountain route that started and finished in Bilbao.

If he fully recovers from his injuries, and in the absence of official confirmation from the Movistar Team, the Spaniard will form part of the line-up of the ‘telephone’ team that will participate in La Vuelta a España 2023. His presence will give an already demanding peloton a higher level, after the recent announcement that the Danish Jonas Vingegaard will also ride the ‘big’ Spanish with the Jumbo-Visma.
