Depay and Wijnaldum, imminent

Memphis Depay (13-2-1994) and Georginio Wijnaldum (11-11-1990) are about to sign their signature as Barça players. Joan Laporta, Barça president, announced this Thursday a signing for next week, but the truth is that there could be two. The conversations with the players who have worn the Lyon and Liverpool jerseys, respectively, are well advanced and Barça's intention is to close them before the start of the Eurocup for the peace of mind of the players and to avoid complicating conversations that have been carried on well and that Koeman's continuity has finished ensuring.

After the presentations of Agüero and Eric García, and the announcement of Emerson, the announcements of Depay and Wijnaldum could not be completed with a presentation since the two footballers are preparing the Eurocup with the Netherlands of Frank de Boer. Wijnaldum's signing was practically closed last week with the visit of the agent, Humphrey Nijman, and his lawyer, Jan Kabalt, to the Camp Nou offices. Depay's has also advanced since the player left his representation agency, which for a moment wanted to bring him closer to Juventus. Memphis's determination to play for Barça alongside Koeman has been key. Among other things, because the Barça club went after him last summer. The problem with the salary mass of the squad prevented his signing. Now, Depay is closer than ever to Barça.

The arrival of Wijnaldum and Depay will increase the level of the Barça squad and will lead to departures. In the center of the field, the club looks for a way out for Miralem Pjanic (in addition to the obvious one from Matheus). The arrival of Depay puts Coutinho and Braithwaite at the starting gate. The problem, as with the rest of the players for whom destiny is sought, will be to match interests. But, for the moment, Laporta has prioritized the incorporations and Barça does not sign stars but players with medium-high profile who will increase their competitiveness.
