Dante Moore is transferring in Oregon. He used to be a 5-star quarterback prospect. How well he’ll get along with Dillon Gabriel

Oregon got its second move quarterback on Monday as Dante Moore, who used to play for UCLA, committed to the Ducks.

Moore joins Oklahoma transfer Dillon Gabriel, who earlier this month said he would go to Oregon.

Moore was the second-best athlete in the 2023 class with five stars. He flipped and went to UCLA instead of Oregon after committing to Oregon when he was in high school in Detroit.

Newton still has three years to play college football, and he could take a dnp in 2024 to keep that year of eligibility.

All together, he played in nine games this year and threw for 1,610 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 9 picks.

In 2024, he will probably work on the system while sitting behind Gabriel. In 2025, he will try to take over as starter.

Bo Nix, the Ducks’ starter this season, is leaving to join the NFL draft. They missed out on quarterback Ty Thompson because he chose to move, but they have set themselves up for success by getting two of the best quarterbacks available.

After putting his name in the transfer portal last month, the former five-star prospect committed to Oregon on Monday night. This will keep him to the Big Ten once both schools join this summer.

Moore is likely to play behind Dillon Gabriel, who moved up to Oklahoma earlier in December. Moore ends up at the school to which he formally committed last year but then changed his mind and chose UCLA.

Moore’s promise was a big deal for UCLA and boss Chip Kelly at the time. Moore was the best quarterback prospect in the state of Michigan and the third best pro-style quarterback in the class of 2023.

Moore had a rough first year of college sports. He started nine games and completed 114 passes out of 213, gaining 1,610 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also threw nine errors and had a bad game on the road in particular.

When Utah and Oregon State lost on the road, Moore completed less than half of his passes. He threw two scores and four interceptions.

The quarterback who used to play for Ohio State has committed to Syracuse for his last season of college football in 2024.

He completed 14 out of 33 passes against Oregon State on October 14 for 165 yards, a touchdown, and three interceptions.

He then played in only two games and completed 12 passes before trying 38 passes in UCLA’s non-conference loss to Cal.

McCord is a huge addition for new Syracuse teacher Fran Brown, who wants to change the team’s group before the start of his first season. Over the weekend, McCord went to Syracuse.

When the transfer link opened on Monday, McCord used it right away. His choice was one of the biggest surprises of December.

The news came the day after Ohio State was picked to play Missouri in the Cotton Bowl while coach Ryan Day didn’t say for sure that McCord would be the team’s starter in 2024.

In his only season as the Buckeyes’ starter, McCord completed 229 out of 348 passes, gaining 3,170 yards and 24 touchdowns while throwing six picks.

And he threw two picks in Ohio State’s loss to Michigan. Five of his six interceptions came in the last five games of the season. Ohio State was beaten to Michigan three times in a row.

He joins Zeed Haynes and Jackson Meeks, both wide receivers who used to play for Georgia, as transfer arrivals to Syracuse’s offense.

Before being hired as Syracuse’s head coach, Brown, who is from New Jersey, was the defensive backs coach for Kent State.

Monday, five-star Class of 2023 quarterback Dante Moore revealed that he is transferring to Oregon.

Moore used to play quarterback for UCLA. Jones Moore was ranked as the second best quarterback eligible by The Athletic’s transfer portal.

In the 2023 class, Moore was named No. 5 overall and No. 3 quarterback by 247Sports. He played football at Martin Luther King High School in Detroit.

He originally chose to go to Oregon, but just before his initial signing time last December, he changed his mind and now wants to go to UCLA.

Moore started five of the nine games he played in as a freshman for the Bruins. He completed 53.5% of his passes, threw for 1,610 yards, scored 11 scores, and picked off nine others.

Early this month, Oklahoma graduate Dillon Gabriel also committed to Oregon. He threw for 3,660 yards and 30 scores in 2023, when the Sooners were 10-2.
