Cordón: “Camarasa is the most important signing”

Victor Camarasa he continues to exercise in the sports city Luis del Sol to get ready for the next preseason after the serious ligament injury suffered last August and that has prevented him from playing a single minute this 2021/22 campaign. The midfielder only rests on weekends – which usually happens in Valencia– and during the week he exercises in the gym, together with goalkeeper Dani Martín, who is also recovering from a knee injury. This Tuesday, during the presentation of Sabaly, the Betic sports director, Antonio Cordon, referred to Camarasa as “the most important signing and that nobody has spoken about.”

Cordón explained how day to day passes in terms of planning the campus and the close contact he maintains with Pellegrini: “We talk almost every day. He knows that he marks the characteristics of the players that we can think of and from there we try to adapt to his demands. Little by little we are opening the way, we get signings that at one point he does not ask us either. For this year we have the most important signing and that nobody has talked about, which is Camarasa, that nobody has said and it is very important. We are adapting to what he is asking us and we are in constant communication ”, explained the sports director.

Víctor Camarasa, who turned 27 on May 29, has one more campaign under contract with Real Betis, a club he joined in the summer of 2017 in exchange for 7 million euros for 80% of the pass. He played 26 games (1,360 ') in his first campaign at Real Betis, which qualified for the European competition under the guidance of Setién. In 2018/19 – after the signings of Canales, William Carvalho or Inui – he was transferred without a purchase option to Cardiff, where he was elected the best player of the season, although the Welsh team did not manage to avoid relegation from the Premier. In 2019/20 he was loaned to Crystal Palace, with a mandatory purchase option if he played a certain number of games, but he barely entered Roy Hodgson's plans, who only gave him 5 'in a Premier match, which is why in January he was loaned to Alavés. Last summer he joined the Betic squad at the express request of Manuel Pellegrini, but a serious injury suffered in August has left him blank all year.
