This time there were no suspicions, no hot balls. The draw for the Copa del Rey basketball, held on Monday in Mlaga (home of the tournament, from February 13 to 16 at Martn Carpena), not leaving a road without meeting until the final for the two indisputable favorites: Real Madrid and Barcelona go, this time, for the same part of the picture and if they manage to overcome their respective semifinals, faces will be seen in the semifinal of Saturday ( 18.30 h.).

In the last decade, it had only happened once (Vitoria 2013). The classic was always repeated in the final, except on that occasion that the Catalans defeated the Whites in the quarterfinals and in 2016 and 2017, eliminated the Bara in the quarterfinals (Bilbao) and semifinals (Valencia). The last champion beyond the two transatlantic was the Baskonia – the great absent for the 84th edition-, in 2009.

The other striking aspect of the raffle that took place in the Picasso Mlaga Museum Auditorium – the local actors Pablo Puyol and Canco Rodrguez were the innocent hands – was that Casademont Zaragoza, Iberostar Tenerife, Morabanc Andorra or Unicaja, one of them, being a finalist. A unique opportunity.

The tournament will start with the duel of the biggest carats of quarters, two Euroleague teams, the current two-time Barcelona against Valencia Basket (19.00 h.). The three duels of this course were for Pesic, Supercopa (71-65), Endesa League (97-94) and Europe (83-77). Das before the tournament (February 5), they will be seen at La Fonteta in European competition.

That same Thursday the 13th, then (9:30 p.m.), Real Madrid will see them with the revelation team, the newly promoted RETABet Bilbao of lex mumbr, who got his ticket with a heroic victory on Sunday at the Palau. The 'men in black' have been able to defeat Madrid and Bara this season.

For Friday there are Tenerife-Andorra (7:00 p.m.) and Unicaja-Zaragoza (9:30 p.m.).
