Carlos Garach does not go to the final of the 800 meters of the World Swimming Championships in Budapest

MADRID, 20 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish swimmer Carlos Garach Benito could not access this Monday the final of the 800 free meters of the World Championships that are being held at the Duna Arena in Budapest.

The man from Granada, debutant in a World Cup event and the only representative of the third day in the pool of the national delegation, could not approach his best performance and his mark of 8:05.52, far from the 7:56 with which he was proclaimed champion from Spain, it was not worth it to get among the eight finalists, although the cut was left at an almost inaccessible 7:47.

“I am very happy to have debuted in the World Cup, although it has not been the way we wanted. Well, now I will speak with Xavi (Casademont, his coach) to see the mistakes I have had and what I can improve on. I have to continue working because on Friday I swim the 1,500 and I will face it with great desire and fight”, Garach said in statements collected by the website of the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation (RFEN).
