Calleri can drop three games of penalty

Jonathan Calleri, Espanyol striker, faces a penalty of three suspension matches after being sent off this Sunday at the RCDE Stadium in the match between the parakeet box and Leganés (0-1).

The point man, who had entered the field 63 minutes into the game to replace Pedrosa, was sent off just 24 minutes later, in '87, for a double yellow. As recorded in the arbitration record, he saw the first for addressing the referee of the match, Cuadra Fernández, telling him “Take my card, if I don't care”.

Immediately, and always according to the minutes, the footballer “addressed me in the following terms, pointing his finger at me and then pointing out of the field of play: “Now I am going to say what you told me.”

The first yellow, for saying “take my card, if I don't care”; the second, for “now I am going to say what you told me”

For this double yellow, the striker will drop a penalty game. A suspension that can be easily extended in two other games, which is why, according to Cuadra Fernández, Calleri said while showing him the red card: “It is a shame”.

If the Committee understands this expression as a thoughtlessness he will easily apply a sanction of two matches, to add to the one for the double yellow.

Sevilla player Ocampos, on matchday 14 (Valladolid-Sevilla, 0-1) was sent off for a double yellow. And the Committee sanctioned him with two other games for addressing the referee, after the expulsion, telling him “You're a cheek”, as recorded in the minutes, which is classified as ‘inconsiderate’.

And after the two cards and while showing him the red card, he said to the referee: “It is a shame”

If Calleri loses three games, he will miss the derby this Wednesday in the Camp Nou, the duel before him Eibar at the RCDE Stadium this Sunday and the visit to the Valencia in Mestalla the penultimate round of the championship.
