Benítez and the future of James: “I can not give many answers”

Everton will be measured this Saturday against Brighton as a visitor for the third date of the Premier League. Rafael Benítez, coach of the Toffees, spoke at the press conference and was once again asked about the situation of James Rodríguez, a player who is on the market and who so far has not made his debut with the team this season.

Benítez reiterated that the Colombian and other transferable players are still part of the club and that we must wait for the transfer market to end, everything can happen between now and August 31.

“To be honest is what I said before. I'm sorry but I can't give you many answers for this question.. These players are still ours, we have a few days to keep working (in the market) and we'll see. If you ask me, maybe in 3 days, suddenly there is a solution, but today it is speculation. I can't say much about that, “Benitez responded to the question about James' future at Everton.

The Spanish coach he also referred to the refusal of Premier League clubs to lend to their players to the national teams that will play in September in countries of the red list of the United Kingdom. This decision involves the Colombian Yerry Mina.

“Obviously it is not an easy situation for anyone, but I think the decision has been made and that is it. The players understood the decision, we have to protect them and deal with this. This is what there is, “said the coach.

Brighton and Everton play this Saturday, August 28, starting at 9:00 a.m., Colombian time.
