Ana Rosa Quintana: “Pedro Sánchez is like Santa Claus: when Christmas Eve arrives he will distribute”

Ana Rosa Quintana has an answer to the big question: Will he be invested Pedro Sanchez or are we going to elections? The businesswoman also explains in this second part of the interview that we published this Saturday How do you see the reduction in working hours? Furthermore, the presenter has the solution so that the Spanish government does not depend on Puigdemont. She analyzes the conflict in the Middle East, and reveals her true relationship with Letizia, queen and friend of her rival. Sonsoles Onega.

How is your health?

Well, with the reviews and that but fine.

How has your circadian rhythm, your sleep, changed from morning to afternoon?

AR: Fatal. It’s a disaster that I can’t explain why I want to eat at home, because I like to eat at home, because I eat healthy. And I’m picky, I’m not a big eater. Now at around 12:30 in the morning, then I go out if I have to do something, then I come back, eat again, then I have dinner… I haven’t made it clear, because in the end I used to get up very early, but then I had a work lunch, which I can’t have anymore and I miss them, or I would see my friends, and then in the afternoon I would stay home and work online, but with my sneakers on. And not now.

You have already started missing Fridays, you already did that in the morning

AR: Yes, I did it in the morning, because there are three things that are fatal to cancer: red meat, sugar and stress. So, when Salem (CEO of Mediaset) asked me to do this program, I said: ‘I don’t work on Fridays because I have children and I have to take care of myself, because, if not, you finish at nine at night on Fridays.’ And I wish we could work 4 days a week.

So, reducing the work week to 37 and a half hours…

AR: Anything to improve working life and raise people’s salaries seems great to me, but who pays for this party? The problem is that in Spain 90% are small businessmen, with half of them self-employed and I don’t know if they will be able to, and let’s remember that there are 140,000 million euros that have left Spain.

They point you out for being right-wing.

AR: Here, everyone who does not agree with the Government is disgraced.

Pedro Sánchez has already achieved the votes of Yolanda Díaz. Now he is missing Puigdemont’s, and the others. What do you think? Because you talk about politics.

AR: I talk about politics when I feel like it, on the program too. It seems to me that this agreement is a mirage, it is to entertain us a little because we have spent three months with the Parliament inactive and with a Government in office where absolutely nothing moves, and in the end we are waiting for Puigdemont. But everything that SUMAR has agreed to with Pedro Sánchez will have to be ratified by the rest of its partners. Let’s see what the PNV says about the 2:30 hour flights or see what Puigdemont says. They are agreements with very different parties. Pedro Sánchez is going to depend on right-wing parties like Puigdemont or the PNV, and there will be many measures that have been agreed upon that will not suit those partners. Come on, when the PNV militants now find out that they are leftist…

Is Pedro Sánchez going to govern or are we going to elections?

AR: I think he is going to govern because Puigdemont is more interested in Pedro Sánchez being there, even though his bases have said no. And Bildu is interested in Pedro Sánchez being there. They will reach an agreement. Sánchez is like Santa Claus: when Christmas Eve arrives he will distribute whatever needs to be distributed.

And how do you handle that?

AR: What seems more fair to me and what should have been in a serious country? That in the end the PSOE and the PP, which are the social majority of this country, agreed. What happens is that some are interested in Pedro Sánchez being there and Pedro Sánchez likes to continue in La Moncloa. Is that fascist? No. The problem is that here you either say what the minorities want or you are a fascist, right-wing. I refanfinfla it.

“Puigdemont sued me”

If they give you the choice between Rubiales or Puigdemont, who do you like worse?

AR: I just don’t know them. Well, I know Puigdemont a little better because he sued me; but I don’t know Rubiales. You can’t handle a crisis worse and he should have resigned much sooner than he did for other things, not just this. And Puigdemont, well, who was going to tell Puigdemont that now he was going to be the key to governing? It seems to me a drama for our country.

Is it compatible to condemn the barbarity of Hamas terrorism and demand that Israel defend itself while respecting international and humanitarian law?

AR: Its normal.

What do you say about those who call those who demand that Israel respect humanitarian law anti-Semites?

AR: What Hamas have done is truly atrocious. In 2006 I started the program in Gaza, and I did it from the ruins, and Gaza had a terrible situation. Hamas has kidnapped Palestine.

What would you do if your son dismembered a doctor in Thailand?

AR: I can’t think about it, nor can I imagine it, just as I can’t imagine that one of my sons will die, as I told Ana Obregón. I guess I would do what fathers do: go to jail to see her son even though he committed a horrible crime. They recognize that they have to pay for their guilt, but they are still their children and they are not going to abandon them. How many mothers are there going to see murderers, recognizing that they are murderers? Knowing the damage they have done.

How about the princess and the Kings on Columbus Day?

AR: Very good, very good, The girl (Princess Leonor) seems charming to me, she is also of an age, 17 years old (she turns 18 on Tuesday), who still has that sweet face and is a very sweet girl.

What do you say to the King and Letizia when you arrive to greet them at the hand kisser of the Royal Palace?

AR: Letizia is always very affectionate. She asked me how she was doing. When I was sick the Kings called me. But on the day of the hand-kissing I didn’t stay in groups, I went on my own. This year it was very hard, we spent 2 hours or so waiting in a room, standing, and it was already 3:30 in the afternoon.

Did Alessandro Salem get dizzy?

AR: He didn’t get dizzy at all. I was with Salem (CEO of Mediaset), Sandra, their communications director, my husband and I were there, we went together and he didn’t get dizzy at all. It was horribly hot and she told them to take her blood pressure, that was before the hand kiss. She then she was in the kisser. What’s more, we then left her because she had a meal.

Are you one of those who goes to Zarzuela from time to time?

AR: No. I have never been with the Kings in Small committee, never again; always at official receptions or official events.

And when Sonsoles worked with you, didn’t he tell you little secrets about his friend Letizia?

AR: No, I never talked about it, and that’s fine with me because that’s what I’m telling you: you have to distinguish very well between your profession and what you know from your private life.
