Alfredo Merino presents the guide ‘350 sports that you can practice outdoors’

MADRID, 21 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The journalist and writer Alfredo Merino publishes the guide ‘350 sports that you can practice outdoors’, a review of the history, technique, material and places where disciplines such as trekking, climbing or gravel are practiced.

Edited by GeoPlaneta, the work will be presented this Tuesday (7:00 p.m.) at the Desnivel Bookstore in Madrid, in Plaza Matute, and the author will be accompanied by journalist Orfeo Sánchez, sports director of El Mundo.

Alfredo Merino was not even two years old when, while camping with his parents in the Sierra de Guadarrama, he started walking for the first time. Since then he has not stopped traveling through the mountains. Photojournalist, writer, cartoonist, high mountain guide, naturalist and popularizer, he is dedicated to telling his experiences.

Merino teaches how to explore nature and be in it in a sustainable way. More than 7,000 articles and reports, a dozen books, 500 conferences, 2,000 guided outings and 20 expeditions to the highest mountain ranges and most remote places on the planet support it.

This dissemination work has been recognized with different awards, granted among other entities by the Spanish Federation of Mountain Sports and Climbing, the Madrid Mountaineering Federation, the Torelló International Mountain Film Festival, the Community of Madrid and the Madrid City Council.
