Acosta misses Assen due to a fractured femur

MADRID, 22 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Spanish Moto2 rider Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) will miss the Dutch Grand Prix this weekend due to a fracture in his left femur while training, for which he will undergo surgery on Thursday.

His team reported on Wednesday the injury of the 18-year-old Murcian rider, current Moto3 champion and progressing in the intermediate category in recent races. Acosta was second last Sunday in Germany, but after his time at Sachsering he suffered this setback in the form of an injury.

Thus, the Spaniard will not be in Assen, the last appointment before the World Cup holiday break, time at least for the recovery of his left leg after the operation. “The reigning Moto3 champion plans to undergo surgery on Thursday at the Hospital Universitari Dexeus in Barcelona,” said his team.
