2-1: Defense defeated Olimpia and climbed to second place in group G

Defense and Justice achieved a valuable victory this Wednesday by 2-1 against Olympia for the fourth day of Group G of the Libertadores Cup that allowed the 'Falcon' to surpass his rival in the classification and to be second behind Santos.

Washington Camacho and Braian Romero scored the goals of the Argentine team, while Isidro Pitta discounted for the Paraguayan team, who this weekend will play the penultimate day of the local Apertura Tournament to maintain their illusions of fighting for the title with the leader Cerro Porteño.

After two initial defeats, Defensa y Justicia added their second victory after the restart of the tournament and, after beating Olimpia, settled in second place in the area with 6 points and dreams of qualifying for the round of 16.

In its international premiere season, Florencio Varela's 'Falcón' achieved a victory against a rival who has three Libertadores Cup titles (1979, 1990 and 2002), in addition to a South American Super Cup (1990), two South American Recopas (1991 and 2003), an Intercontinental Cup (1979) and an Inter-American Cup (1980).

The match had the Argentine host as dominator and at minute 20 he opened the scoring after a great assist from Eugenio Isnaldo that left the Uruguayan Camacho facing the empty goal to convert.

Defense could have gone with more advantage with a header from Camacho that Librado Azcona took on a corner kick, or a shot from Enzo Fernández in the last minute that he hit the post.

The second half started with the same intensity as the first stage that generated several yellow cards by the Chilean referee Cristian Garay.

At minute 62, the 'Falcon' managed to increase the difference through a great play by Gabriel Hachen that ended with a deep qualification to Romero, who defined crossed and beat Azcona's resistance.

Five minutes later the situation of the 'Franjeado' was further complicated with the expulsion of Hernesto Caballero by double warning.

However, the reaction of the Argentine coach of the Paraguayan team Daniel Garnero was to make a double modification with the income of Néstor Camacho and Jorge Recalde.

And at 75, Olimpia discounted with a good definition from Pitta after coming face to face with goalkeeper Luis Unsain.

On the fifth day, Defense and Justice will visit the Dolphin on October 1, while Olimpia will receive Santos that same day.
