Zidane wants to “close the circle” with the French team

MADRID, 22 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Former Real Madrid coach Zinédine Zidane acknowledged that he wants to “close the circle” with the French team in a future where the work that started with the 1998 World Cup ends, then as a player, after this Wednesday it was ruled out that he would sign for Paris Saint-Germain for the next academic year.

“With the ‘bleus’, it’s not over”, said Zidane in an interview with ‘L’Equipe’, which will be published in full this Thursday on the occasion of the French coach’s 50th birthday. Zidane reviews his career but also all the news.

The former merengue coach was in the orbit of PSG in recent weeks, but this Wednesday the president of the capital club denied any contact with Zidane. “I love Zidane, he was a fantastic player, of incredible class. An exceptional coach too, with three Champions Leagues, but I will say one thing: we never spoke to him, directly or indirectly,” he told ‘Le Parisien’.

“Many clubs are interested in him, selections too, but we have never talked to him. We have chosen a coach who will be the best for what we want to put in,” said Al-Khelaïfi, who did not hide the name of Christophe Galtier, current coach of the Nice.
