Yolanda Díaz’s other setback: before separating from Sumar, she left him with her husband and father of her daughter

This Monday, after the European elections this Sunday, June 9, Yolanda Diaz has announced that he is leaving his organic positions in Sumar after learning of the party’s poor results in the European elections, in which it won three MEPs. The second vice president of the Government and Minister of Labor and Social Economy has clarified, however, that this resignation from internal positions in her party does not mean her departure from the Government of Pedro Sánchez.

In her personal life, politics has Carmela’s smile, her great joy. At 11 years old, she is a young woman with many concerns who looks at her mother with admiration. So much so that we have seen them together on some important days such as voting at the polls or some cultural meetings in the capital.

This 2024, Díaz has not only suffered a setback in politics but also in his love life, since in February we learned of his separation from the architectural draftsman Juan Andrés Meizoso. He was Yolanda’s discreet companion for more than two decades. After separating from him, he has returned to Galicia, to Ferrol, where he works for Navantia.

The minister, on the other hand, resides in the Ministry of Labor with their daughter. They live in the Nuevos Ministerios building, where she has her office. In this way, Díaz benefits from the official housing that ministers can enjoy.

The vice president’s has 445 square meters within the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy itself: “I live with my daughter, I am super single-parent,” Díaz declared in January before Marc Giró in the program Late Xou from TVE’s La 2.

Díaz met Meizoso while studying Law in the late 90s. They married on November 15, 2004, almost 20 years ago, at the Torrente Ballester cultural center in Ferrol, in a civil ceremony. For her wedding, the woman from A Coruña wore a red dress and her husband wore a cream-colored suit.

A draftsman by profession, the ex-husband of the Galician politician continued living in Ferrol when Yolanda Díaz moved to the capital for professional reasons, when she was appointed minister. But the intensity of the position forced Yolanda Díaz to reduce the frequency of her trips to Galicia and her husband ended up moving to Madrid, putting the family at the top of her priorities.

At the end of 2021, Meizoso got a job as a draftsman in Madrid, and they were able to change her daughter’s school. But he has returned to his land. The two share a great friendship and a mortgage of more than one hundred thousand euros; and among his assets appear a home, a law office and two cars.
