MADRID, 14 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Italian coach Walter Mazzarri became the new coach of SSC Napoli this Tuesday, replacing the Frenchman Rudi Garcia, who was dismissed due to his discreet results at the start of Serie A and his irregular path in the Champions League.

“Napoli has decided to revoke Rudi Garcia’s role as first team coach. Thanks to him and his staff for their collaboration to date,” the Neapolitan entity simply said on its website.

Through their social networks, the current Serie A champion reported the hiring of Mazzarri to take over the reins of their bench. Napoli currently occupies fourth position in the league, with 21 points on its board and 10 less than the leader Inter Milan.

Things are going somewhat better for them in the top European competition, being second in Group C with seven points, five less than the leader Real Madrid. However, their recent draw at home against Union Berlin (1-1) still left their qualification for the round of 16 in doubt.
