Vithas will care for the best female golfers in Europe and the United States as the Solheim Cup medical service

Those responsible for the Vithas hospital group, the official medical service of the Solheim Cup 2023, have held a meeting with the teams from the United States and Europe on the eve of the tournament that this weekend, from September 22 to 24, will turn the Finca Cortesín field of Casares (Málaga) in the epicenter of world golf.

The meeting was attended by Mercedes Mengíbar, territorial director of Vithas in Andalusia; José Antonio Ródenas, managing director of the Vithas Xanit International Hospital; Juan Bosco, Business Development Director of Vithas on the Costa del Sol; and Rocío Molina, head of Communication and Marketing at the Vithas Xanit International Hospital.

Vithas will take care of the health of all golfers with a wide range of care offered by qualified professionals from the Vithas Xanit International Hospital and the Vithas Xanit Estepona Hospital. This operation is made up of 8 doctors, 6 nurses, as well as 10 technicians and 3 ambulances for each day, each made up of a doctor, nurse and health emergency technician in addition to other medical resources. All of this will be coordinated by Dr. Milagros Jaén, head of the emergency service at the Vithas Xanit International Hospital.

The Solheim Cup is the most prestigious women’s golf competition on the international golf calendar. This biannual competition pits the best European players from the Ladies European Tour (LET) against the best American golfers from the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour.

The last edition of the Solheim Cup was held from September 4 to 6 at the Inverness Club in Toledo (United States) and the European team won by 15 points to 13.
