Valladolid rescues a point in Guede’s debut

Valladolid, with this tie, remains second with 65 points, waiting for what Almería does -third with 63- in their Monday game against Ponferradina, while the people of Malaga, eighteenth with 38 points, continue to score the border of permanence, 7 points -with one more game played- from the relegation zone.

The first few minutes were tentative, until Málaga recovered in the midfield that Aleix Febas took advantage of to stand alone in front of goalkeeper Masip and gently yield to striker Brandon Thomas, who only had to push the ball to score the 1- 0 at 4 minutes.

Real Valladolid, surprised by the intensity of the locals, advanced lines in search of a draw, which could have come after a free kick whose rejection fell to the Israeli Wiessman, but he ran into the goalkeeper Dani Martín.

The Castilian team insisted against a Malaga that defended the favorable result and tried to leave their area with some against. The albivioletas were able to equalize with a shot from midfielder Aguado, only at the penalty spot, which went out when brushing against an opponent.

The dominance and football was in charge of the visitors, who pressed with chances from Weissman, very active, but without success against goalkeeper Dani Martín, with which the break was reached with 1-0.

After the restart, debutant coach Pablo Guede did not see the result at all and changed the system, replacing central defender Andrés Caro with a striker, Antoñín, and in this way trying to have more of the ball and create some danger in the Valladolid area .

Perhaps Málaga was the one that was making the most of the chances, with a single goal, against a better Valladolid, although with differences in defense, where a mess between two defenders and the goalkeeper Masip outside the goal made the ball reach the forward Álvaro Vadillo so that, leaning to the left, he finished off from outside the area and made it 2-0 in the 49th minute.

The match passed without movement until a corner kicked by Valladolid and Weissman’s header came, which shortened the differences in the 59th minute. From then on, the Malaguistas’ legs trembled, nervous and with less quality than their rival, although with courage, claw and a lot of heart.

Four minutes later, the Israeli striker scored again after a cross from the right by Gonzalo Plata, who came in to revolutionize his team, with which Weissman managed to equalize the contest by getting ahead of the local defense.

Málaga, very tired, refreshed the team to look for the surprise again. He touched it with two very clear occasions from Adrián, while Valladolid suffered from the effort and gradually declined, although in the end they saved a point in a game that was complicated against a Málaga team that has not won at home for five months.
