Matthew Valbuena, player of the Olympiacos Greek, declared this Tuesday to RMC Sports that he is “ready to turn the page” after the recent decision of Karim Benzema to withdraw his appeal of his conviction in the ‘Sextape Case’. “It is a chapter that is ending. It is true that I too was tired of all that and suffered a lot. They penalized me a lot at a sporting level and this chapter is finally coming to an end”, confessed the 37-year-old French midfielder.

“I don’t hold a grudge at all and I always said what I had to say. They were difficult moments from which I was able to recover. Now everyone goes their own way,” he added. Valbuenawhich ensured that Benzema “he deserves the Ballon d’Or” for his brilliant season with the Real Madrid.

The merengue forward resigned to appeal the ruling issued last November by a court of Versailles, who sentenced him to one year in prison with a suspended sentence and a fine of 75,000 euros for blackmailing his former teammate for a sexual video Matthew Valbuena.
