Toyota wins the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the fifth time in a row

MADRID, 12 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Toyota team won the 90th edition of the 24 hours of Le Mans this Sunday, while the Americans of the Glickenhaus 708 completed the podium in this legendary event where the Japanese team triumphed for the fifth time in a row.

The trio of the Toyota 8, formed by Brendon Hartley, Ryo Hirawaka and Sebastien Buemi, conquered Le Mans by beating their teammates in the number 7, Kamui Kobayashi, José María López and Mike Conway, the latter the winners of the test last season.

There were no surprises in the most iconic endurance race on the planet, where the Japanese brand found no rival. During the night, the number 7 car had electrical problems and lost a lot of time standing in the pit, therefore, they lost all options to overcome their teammates.

In the case of Alpine, it was ruled out on Saturday afternoon, also due to electrical problems with the clutch and later with the ignition coil. In fact, at sunrise they did not improve by crashing into the protections, when the driver Matthieu Vaxiviere was driving the French car.
